Geophysical site investigation

In order to carry out effective hydrogeological work for our clients; The company employs the use of terrain evaluation and the of various geophysical techniques. These include the use of resistivity, electromagnetic and Seismic methods to ascertain details of the hydrogeologic conditions of the area, details profiling to determine lateral variation of rock resistivity and vertical electrical sounding (VES) which determines vertical variation in resistivity are mostly used.

Borehole Drilling

The company employs the use of the state-of-the-art drilling equipment for our clients. This includes drilling through thick overburden and hardrocks. Our team of professionals ensure standard design and construction of the well. Our services include pumping test on old and newly drilled borehole to ascertain the sustainable yield of the borehole. The company also provide services in the redevelopment of existing wells to improve upon their production efficiency.

PUMPING TEST

In order to know the real status and performance of the newly drilled or existing boreholes  proposed for mechanization or installation of handpump, we carry out pumping-recovery tests are carried out.

The design and length of the pumping tests was determined based on the purpose the borehole is going to serve and other factors.

There exist two types of pumping tests each of them with a clear goal.

One is the step-drawdown pumping test, which aims at knowing the specific capacity and performance of the well or borehole, its construction quality and current status and the optimum discharge rates for the constant pumping test.

The other one is the constant rate pumping test, this has the purpose of determining the hydraulic parameters of the aquifer formation where pumped boreholes are located, which are Transmissivity (T), Storage Coefficient (S), Well Efficiency as well as the Safe Yields of the boreholes. There also exist the recovery test in which data of residual drawdowns is collected at given times once the pump is switched off. They also provide additional information for the aquifer hydraulic parameters.

Redevelopment of Existing Boreholes

Borehole development is a process used for cleaning boreholes to improve their  for production capacity as well as water quality .It is done to remove any debris, cuttings, or drilling fluid that may have been left in the borehole during the drilling process. We adopt the use of various equipment such air compressors to inject pressurized air into the borehole.

These details are analyzed using computerized software during the desk work stage. The desk work stage involved the processing and analysis of data acquired from the field.  The processing and the analysis are carried out using GIS related software, CAD related software and EPANET software.  With these three tools, simulations are carried to determine the size of storage required, the diameters of the pipelines, location of various appurtenances among several other components required for the water system. 

Reports and design documents are prepared as reference for the construction of the water system.
